LOS ANGELES, March 7, 2009- Loyola Marymount University’s Art Department is pleased to present “Bygones” by Trish Treaccar and “Satori in Retrospect” by Justin Manzano. This collaborative effort is showing March 19- March 27 2009. The artists’ opening reception will be held Thursday, March19 from 6-9pm at the exhibition space, the Thomas P. Kelly, Jr. Student Art Gallery.

Treaccar and Manzano are two young artists in their early twenties whom both attend Loyola Marymount University and are joining shows in one large space within their school. Their photographs will be placed together and revealed in the upcoming weeks.

Their collaborative photographic works will be open to the pubic at the Thomas P. Kelly, Jr. Student Art Gallery, which is located within the Fritz B. Burns Fine Arts Center on Loyola Marymount University’s south side of campus.

LOS ANGELES, February 4, 2009- Loyola Marymount University's Art Department is proud to present "Freak Show," a partnership production by Kirsten Harkonen and Kendal Coopman, showing February 18-March 6, 2009. The artists' opening reception will be held Thursday, February 19 from 6-9pm at the exhibition space, the Thomas P. Kelly, Jr. Student Art Gallery.

Harkonen and Coopman are two young artists who've joined efforts to create a collective display. One from San Francisco and the other Valencia, the friends worked in collusion with their artistry somewhere in the middle. Both women are senior-year art major students at Loyola Marymount University, and they will transform part of their school into "Freak Show" with photographs and an installation for the soon upcoming three weeks.

Their collaborative photographic works will be open to the pubic at the Thomas P. Kelly, Jr. Student Art Gallery, which is located within the Fritz B. Burns Fine Arts Center on Loyola Marymount University's south side of campus.

AIGA's "EMERGE" HOSTED AT NEW ART GALLERY

More about the event: Beginning January 26 through February 15, the LMU Student Chapter of the AIGA (the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the professional association for design) in conjunction with ASLMU, and the Graphic Design Program of the College of Communication and Fine Arts will be hosting EMERGE, an exhibition showcasing student work from the top graphic design programs in the Los Angeles area. LMU is among 13 schools including Art Center, CalArts, Otis, CSUN and USC participating in the exhibition, conceived and designed by LMU graphic design and multimedia arts students. AIGA is awarding $13,000 in scholarships for selected student entries. The reception for EMERGE will be on Saturday February 7, 6 P.M.-10 P.M. in the new Kelly Student Gallery where an anticipated 500 guests are to attend.

Free food, music will be served during the reception.
